Henry and Lewis - almost Three

Dear Henry and Lewis,

In just a couple of weeks' time you will be three.  We have been in Chinchilla for just over four months, but in that time, we have all made some really lovely friends, who we will be very sad to leave.

In these few short months, you have both learned:
  • how to pronounce helicopter
  • to grasp the basics in doing a jigsaw
  • how to play well with other children
In this past month especially, Henry your imagination is coming to the fore and you are now making up your own stories and songs.  You particularly love taking pretend medicine and practising to be a Doctor, after all our recent bouts of illness.

Lewis, you speak a lot with Henry and to us, but a lot of what you say is still incomprehensible.  You seem to be very gymnastic, and love to hang upside down on the sofa like a little buddha.  We have been through the "that's mine" phase and whilst we're not out yet, hopefully the worst is over.

We will be especially sad to leave your Day Care, which is Charley's Place, which you both thoroughly enjoy.  It is a really special facility, and you have loved interacting with the animals and growing things on the farm.  Here is a copy of your reports from your parent/teacher interviews:

It was brilliant to get additional insight that Henry is a particularly outdoor orientated child who loves to get involved with the animals.  I appreciate working in partnership to encourage Henry in those areas where he needs particular attention.

You are both thriving there, and it is wonderful to witness.  You have both easily hit your age milestones and we are looking forward to what happens next.

We are having your 3rd birthday party in Jubilee Park this Sunday afternoon, 22nd June and hope to get some very nice updated photos of you then.  In the meantime, we are also preparing for our move to Hervey Bay and are hopeful that all will proceed smoothly.

Much love always,
Mummy x
